Golden Globes 2025

The anemic-looking roses made good gowns go bad, and less-than-good gowns go well... 🫠 Since the rose wall was a redo from last year's awards (!!!) We thought we'd provide a side-by-side comparison of some of our favorite looks on the green foliage wall and those same looks on the sad flower wall of doom... Let's hope 2025 is the last we'll see of it!
Elle Fanning in Balmain
Easily a top look of the night for us. The silhouette, the cheeky pop of leopard print, and that itty bitty belt. But on the right, you can see the dress loses dimension, and even Elle Fanning, who often dons soft pastels, can't make that pale wall work...
Kerry Washington in Balenciaga
Maybe the colors need to be brighter, you say? Well, how about a hot pink gown with jet-black evening gloves - surely that will pop on the wall. No. Nothing can stop the wall.
Emma Stone in Louis Vuitton
Ahh, distracted by Emma's adorable new haircut, huh? Us too. Thank you, Emma, for the brief respite for our eyes. (We still think the gown looks better on the green...)
Ariana Grande in Givenchy Haute Couture (Spring 1966)
This archival Givenchy gown designed by Hubert de Givenchy himself is a piece of fashion history that sadly gets lost in a sea of pale hues here. Do we think the rumors are true, and does this hint at Ariana's move from Glinda to an Audrey Hepburn biopic?
Demi Moore in Giorgio Armani Privé
This was Demi's year, and even that lame wall couldn't keep the smile off her gorgeous face.
