Runway Deep Dive: Blumarine 2000
Blumarine Spring 2000 Runway Show
Italian brand Blumarine was founded by Gianpolo Tarabini and his wife, designer Anna Molinari. Molinari was nicknamed the “queen of roses” because of her tendency towards romanticism, femininity, and fun.
The Spring 2000 Blumarine collection features simple silhouettes with far from simple design. Florals and animal prints pepper sequined bias cut dresses. Molinari's style leans flirtatious and playful yet always incorporates exceptional craftsmanship and fluid ease.
Three minis with matching bags!
This trio of dresses is complete with matching bags made of the same material. A cheeky yet practical styling choice - how much easier life would be!
Two zebra print looks with pops of florals.
One of Molinari's signature moves for Blumarine is pairing animal prints with florals. The animal print lends itself to "sexiness," while the florals add a juxtaposition of sweetness. Mollinari’s recipe for a modern woman! The look on the left? Perfect for a bachelorette weekend in Miami. The look on the right? A major wedding guest moment for someplace steamy and glam like Palm Springs or Cabo.

This collection’s evening wear leans more towards romance, with touches of fantasy and aspiration. It's no wonder that Molinari's Blumarine is behind one of the internet's most sought-after cinematic fashion moments from the early 2000s. You know the one…
The silhouettes bear touches of old Hollywood, while the fabrics and embellishments speak to Molinari's vibrant modern take.
